Takes on these dogs? I like them for me. They’re versatile rough blue-collar dogs for me. They can work scrub feral cattle and at the same time bay up wild hogs. Their style of hog hunting with the role of baying i’d say is incredibly ancestral to the wolf. When hunting hogs they use a lot of biting and gripping, yet when faced with the idea of them being hurt, they stand back. With working cattle, they’re the same to other Curs and Heelers as they’re not meant for precise herding. Black Mouth Curs also inflict a lot of injury on cattle for how rough they are, so many ranchers become skeptical. They’re used by a lot of ranchers though simultaneously.

Here in FL we like the box-headed BMCs. Do you know anything about them and what makes them special?

What's "pure" when you're talking about curs though? They're literally just lineages of mongrel someone eventually said was a breed. These definitely have a good chunk of bulldog in them, they look cool. I wonder how hard they are with lugging?

From what I've read in the past they behave a bit like Australia's ridgebacks. Jumps back if things get a little rough. I do believe they are a little more lug-happy than a ridgeback though. I've heard a few times people using curs to catch and I'm sure those blockhead dogs would be better at it and more in that direction. We do love a more reliable kind of dog though, which would explain the by and large prevalence of straight bulldogs/pitbulls. However those BMCs are also kicking around.
